History Week 7th - 10th June

To celebrate our Diamond Jubilee Year, History Co-ordinator Emma Horne organised a 'History Week' involving the whole school.

Each year group studied one of the decades from the 1950’s to the present day – in fact, Nursery and Reception children looked into the future and dressed up as spacemen and aliens!

A wide range of activities took place over the week incorporating fashion, music, news and food from each decade. There was a quiz centred round the 2010 World Cup and children designed and wore their own T-shirts.

The week’s activities culminated in a colourful ‘Street Party’, where everyone dressed up in costume relating to their decade and a delicious commemorative cake was baked by one of our mums and devoured enthusiastically by the children and staff!

The Parents’ Association kindly presented a specially designed Jubilee Mug to all the children and staff to mark the occasion.
