Facilities

Music is a great strength and plays an important part in the life of the school under the direction of a specialist teacher. All children are given opportunities for singing, performing, composing and playing a selection of percussion instruments. Private tuition is available in a wide range of instruments including the piano, cello, flute, violin, clarinet, guitar, saxophone and trumpet. Children are encouraged to participate in the school orchestra and choir.

Our Music & Drama Production takes place in the Spring Term. Past productions have included Alice in Wonderland, Pirates of Penzance, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Toad and the Wild Wood Gang. Other regular music and drama activities include our Christmas Nativity, our own in-house Music, Speech & Drama Festival and several other concerts. Children regularly perform in school assemblies.

Physical Education plays an important part in our curriculum. Children are encouraged to achieve their full potential, to understand what is involved in being part of a team, to appreciate fair play and to learn good sportsmanship. A wide range of games is offered including rugby, football, netball, hockey, rounders, athletics, tennis and cricket in addition to gymnastics and dance. Regular fixtures are arranged with many other preparatory schools in the area. Short tennis is offered to the younger children and is taught by a Lawn Tennis Association coach after school.

Our comprehensive programme of extra curricular activities includes sailing, arts and craft club, I.T., pottery, performing arts, cookery and many sports clubs depending on the season.
