Curriculum

We feel it is very important for learning to be broad and balanced.

The children pursue a programme of Literacy, Numeracy and Science, based on the National Curriculum. This is complimented by a wide range of other subjects, designed to broaden horizons and develop imaginations, all aiming to make school work interesting, stimulating and enjoyable.

We offer additional tuition for those children who may have mild learning difficulties and for those who may need further challenges. We are particularly keen to ensure that all our pupils have a solid base for their studies and we place great emphasis on their literacy and numeracy skills.

Each child is encouraged to develop an understanding and enjoyment of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Children become familiar with the latest technology, with controlled access to the Internet. They develop their word processing skills and learn to use a wide variety of educational software, making good use of the I.T. suite and interactive whiteboards in the classrooms.

French is taught by a specialist from the age of 4, through song and games initially, with a lively text-based course introduced further on in the school. Strong emphasis is placed on spoken French.

We view Music, Art, Drama and Physical Education as integral parts of the curriculum and have specialist teachers as well as excellent facilities to encourage the development of skills in these areas.
