Fairstead seeks to plays an important role in the local community and works closely with local groups, organisations and charities.
A diverse range of local charities are regularly supported, including Racing Welfare who, in collaboration with Fairstead House, hold a Carol Concert each year, with our young musicians and choristers taking a leading part. Harvest Festival gifts collected at Harvest Festival service are distributed to the Open Door Charity – which works towards the rehabilitation of homeless people in the Newmarket area. Non uniform days are used to raise funds for the East Anglia Air Ambulance service. The collections from our Lent and Ascension held at St Agnes Church each year are shared between the church and the Joe Homan Charity and supports a young girl through her studies in India.

We also support a number of national charities each year, including Guide Dogs for the Blind, Jeans for Genes, Unicef , Operation Christmas Child shoe-box appeal and the NSPCC.
The school has also contributed to the rebuilding of a sports pavilion in Exning, which they now share with a local football club and has in the past a local primary school. The school also hosts the local Brownie pack on a weekly basis together with a local Community Choir.
Visits within the local community are wide reaching and include the local police and fire station, churches, nature reserves, an Anglo- Saxon centre, sailing club and various local museums.
